It wasn’t long before she went ahead and earned her PMBIA level 1 coaching certificate and completed a PHEC first aid course, ready to pass on skills and encourage other women to join the sport.

Alice is motivated by seeing the incredible progression of riders through coaching sessions, and wants to pass on the empowering feeling of facing your fear and nailing a technical section of trail. The overall growth of mountain biking in Nelson is something Alice feels passionate about, and wants to encourage as much as possible, but especially for female and younger riders. Alice can be found coaching one-to-one sessions and the monthly workshops in Nelson and Kaiteriteri.

About Mandy

Mandy started mountain biking as a PE student in Dunedin before there were purpose made MTB trails or bikes with suspension (…I know, right!). Ever since this fabulous discovery, biking as been a big part of her life. Modern bikes and trails need modern skills and Mandy has loved the challenge of keeping her skills up to date.

Mandy has owned and ran a cycle touring company for 20 years, while bike packing and mountain biking for pleasure. What I love about biking is that it is social and fun, and you’ll get fit without it being a chore. You can plan and have awesome adventures and catch up with your friends, all while you pedal up hill and empty your mind as you focus on the challenges of descending. Mandy loves to see how riders can progress with coaching and is motivated to help riders find the type of riding that spins their wheels.

Mandy has PHEC first-aid and a PMBIA level 1 coaching certificate. She is one of our Nelson-based coaches delivering one-to-one sessions and monthly workshops in Nelson and Kaiteriteri.
